Dress Does Not Make a Man Great
Once upon a time, there was a famous king known not only for his wealth but also for his wisdom. He often disguised himself and walked through his kingdom to understand the problems of his people. One day, he dressed in old, worn-out clothes and went to a grand feast held by a rich man in the city.
At the gate, the guards looked at his shabby clothes and refused to let him enter. They said, “Only well-dressed, important people are allowed.” The king quietly walked away without revealing his identity.
The next day, the king invited all the important people of the city, including the rich man, to a royal feast at the palace. This time, the king wore his most luxurious clothes, covered in jewels and gold. Everyone welcomed him with great respect.
During the feast, the king did something strange. Instead of eating the delicious food, he started putting it into his pockets and onto his clothes. The guests were shocked and asked him why he was doing this.
The king smiled and said, “Yesterday, I was not allowed to enter your feast because of my poor clothes. Today, I am being honored because of my royal dress. So I thought my clothes should eat the food, not me.”
Everyone understood the king’s message. They realized that true worth is not based on how someone looks or dresses, but on their character and actions.
